Hair Care and Perfect Pancakes

Sometimes it’s hard to find the healthier dish options that we still enjoy and look forward to, instead of searching for hours, we have the perfect combo! If you have been keeping up with our zero-egg waste beauty blogs, you will now have glowing skin and perfect cuticles, but it’s finally time to give a little love and moisture back to your hair.

Take a look at the recipes below for a delicious blissful morning filled with tasty (and healthy) pancakes and shiny hair.

Perfect Greek Yoghurt Pancakes

Fluffy Egg White Pancakes

Serves 2
Ingredients:

  • 2 Purely Organic egg whites (save the egg yolks for the facial mask)
  • 150g of Greek yoghurt
  • 1 tsp of baking soda
  • 70g of all-purpose flour
  • 70g cup of blueberries
  • Butter/oil for frying

Method:

  • Mix your egg whites and greek yoghurt together in a bowl.
  • In a separate bowl, mix the flour and baking powder.
  • Slowly stir the wet mixture into the dry mixture, beware it will be thick!
  • Heat your frying pan to a medium heat and either place butter or oil to cook the pancakes in.
  • For an even stack of pancakes, use an ice cream scoop for the perfect measurement and carefully scoop the mixture onto the pan. Then, add a few fresh blueberries to each pancake and flip when cooked.
  • Serve onto a plate, and sprinkle some more fresh blueberries on top, as well as a drizzle of maple syrup if you’re feeling like treating yourself!

These egg white pancakes offer a delicious protein punch without the added fat. To make a good day even greater, it’s time to make use of the egg yolks, by packing some moisture back into your hair.

Homemade Yolk Hair Mask

Moisturising Egg Hair Treatment

Serves 2
Ingredients:

  • 2 Purely Organic egg yolks (saved from the fluffy egg white pancakes).
  • 120g of greek yoghurt (controls frizz and adds a beautiful shine to your hair).
  • 120ml of olive oil (reduces damage and breakage to hair, as well as restoring moisture).

Method:

  • Mix together the egg yolks, greek yoghurt, and olive oil.
  • Apply the mixture to your hair, and leave this on for 30 minutes.
  • Gently wash the yolk mixture out of your hair with lukewarm water (this is very important).

Be particularly careful when washing the mixture out of your hair, especially when it comes to the heat of the water. Make sure the water isn’t too hot as we don’t want to cook the eggs, after all, scrambled eggs in your hair isn’t very appealing at all!
